Blog Post 1: Welcome to Web Design & Publishing!

My name is cary-anne. I have lived in Austin since 2002, longer than I’ve lived anywhere else, and I cannot think of another place I’d rather live. I took this very course from the then-nearly-Dr. Cindy Royal  back in spring 2004. I loved the material so much I went on to become a Webmaster, then later a Web & Graphic Designer. I went to grad school in 2010 because I wanted to learn how to make Web sites and software easy to use, so I studied Interaction Design & Usability at the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin. I graduated in May 2013 and got a Certificate of Advanced Study in Global Media & Research Analysis in August 2013.

In my spare time, I like to go to shows and see movies with my friends at the Alamo Drafthouse. When I’m not doing one of those things, I’m probably at Torchy’s Tacos eating their delicious queso and a Hipster taco.

I love teaching Web skills, and being in the academic environment. I hope to make this class as fun for you as it was for me when I took it.

My Twitter handle is @_caryanne because by the time I decided to use my name as my handle, someone else had taken it. Wommmp.
